CONSULTATION FOR GREASE MANAGEMENT IN RESTAURANTS, HOTELS, AND DINING ESTABLISHMENTS
A/ INTRODUCTION
1. Current status of the system needing treatment:
- The drainage system of the sink in the kitchen and the food preparation sink is draining very slowly, causing water to back up and overflow outside the sink rim.
- Preliminary inspection reveals that the grease trap is clogged, with a thick layer of grease floating on top and a very foul odor.
2. System contamination:
3. Customer requirements: Address the solidified grease, clear the drainage pipes, and minimize the odor.
B/ WASTE WATER CHARACTERISTICS:
Restaurants, hotels, eateries, supermarkets, and residences are major sources of grease daily, accompanied by food waste and unprocessed waste. Grease and fats will cool and solidify, causing long-term accumulation and leading to pipe blockages and contamination in the wastewater treatment system.
C/ TREATMENT SOLUTIONS:
- Since grease floats on the water's surface when cooled, it is advisable to skim off the floating grease to reduce system contamination.
- Additionally, using microbial products is recommended.
- The microbial strains in BIO FG will utilize grease as their primary food source, producing enzymes that break down fat bonds for easier processing.
For Sink Pipes:
Add microbes after water usage stops, pour directly into the pipes, and allow the microbes to begin working.
For Grease Traps and Grease Pits
- Given the high amount of grease, a higher dose of microbes is needed, and treatment will take time.
- Drip-feeding is the most effective method; microbes will liquefy the grease and clear the system.
D/ METHOD OF GREASE TREATMENT WITH BIO FG:
Product information:
- Product Name: BIO FG
- Origin: USA
Key benefits:
- Rapid odor control.
- Aids in breaking down and liquefying grease, fats (FOG), and proteins.
- Effectively decomposes hardened grease traps.
- Produces enzymes and inhibits harmful bacteria.
- Reduces labor and operational costs.
- Provides a simple solution for grease trap maintenance and pipe cleaning.
Usage instructions:
- Initial dose: 800 - 1000 ml/m³ of the tank.
- Maintenance dose: 100 - 300 ml/m³ of the tank.
- Dilute with clean water at a ratio of 1:1 and pour into the water collection device. For optimal results, apply directly to the grease trap using a drip method.
- Adjust the dosage based on contamination levels for optimal treatment.

* Notes:
+ Use the product at night or after water usage has ceased to allow sufficient time for microbial treatment.
+ Maintain weekly dosing of BIO FG to keep pipes clear.
+ Avoid allowing the system to solidify for too long, as this will increase treatment time and costs.
